Land of Elyon Holdings LLC is a feature film development company headquartered in Studio City, California. It was formed specifically to develop the five-book series, The Land of Elyon, into a series of feature-length animated films as a co-production with our affiliated company in mainland China for global theatrical release as well as merchandising, video games and other products related to the films. Our core team has many years of experience and versatility in the entertainment and production arena to maximize this effort. The book series, written by well-known American children's book author, Patrick Carman, has been published worldwide by Scholastic in 23 countries and almost as many languages, to great acclaim. The books were written for pre-teens. We intend to broaden the target audience by developing our scripts to appeal to the pre-teen, teen and adult audiences.
Eddie Pong – Managing Director
Mr. Pong is one of the holding members of the Land of Elyon Holdings LLC, USA. After earning his Masters in Computer Animation at UCLA, he founded E.P. Graphic Productions, a Los Angeles company specializing in creating 3D computer animation and effects for the major Hollywood studios and TV networks. As President and Production Supervisor, the company became engaged in producing commercials for numerous ad agencies for national and international clients, special-subject short films for the private and government sectors, and select indie film projects. With over 35 years of comprehensive international production experience, he currently serves as President, Computer Animation Director and Producer for E.P. Graphic Productions (Los Angeles), Co-President and Co-production of Development for Animaic SFX Studio (Beijing), and SVP, International Projects Development for Porchlight Entertainment (Los Angeles). He is the Managing Director of the Land of Elyon LLC and a member of the management committee.
Pop Lv Song – Producer/Director, Beijing China
Mr. Song is a holding member of the Land of Elyon Holdings LLC, USA. In addition, he is the founder and CEO of the Animaic Studio, Beijing, China. As a seasoned filmmaker in animation and 3D motion graphics, he has extensive experience both creatively and technically. Pop has directed numerous 3D and 4D animated creative projects. In 2009, he led the development of China’s first cinematic 2D to 3D conversion graphics systems, which was customized for the film industry and participated in SIGGRAPH 2011. His works includes The Monkey King, a highly acclaimed, commercially successful feature film and the New Great Revolution, 30 Years of Reform and Opening UP, for the Chinese National Museum, and many others. In 2015, he had initiated and produced the Hollywood and CCTV co-produced animation series, the 8-Tail Cat, and is fully committed to the success of the future co-production film projects between the United States and China.
Nissa Jiang – Executive Producer, Beijing China
Ms. Nissa Jiang is a major holding member of the Land of Elyon Holdings LLC, USA. She is also the executive producer, and the chairman of the Elyon (Beijing) International Media. Ms. Jiang is responsible for the general management of the financing and business affairs in China for the Elyon project. In addition to her extensive entrepreneurial and management experience, she also has a profound film industry background and is one of the pioneers in the development of the Chinese 3D animation production industry.
Michael Tigar – Holding member of the LLC
A 32-year Animation/VFX industry veteran, was the Executive Producer and Senior VFX Supervisor for Tigar Hare Studios, which he co-founded and ran for nearly two decades. He served as Digital Effects Supervisor at the Hollywood FX giant, Rhythm & Hues, and later helped build Sony Pictures Imageworks and its animation division, where he co-developed two of the industry’s most notable production pipelines. Mr. Tigar helmed and contributed to the pioneering effects on such films as Batman Forever, James and the Giant Peach and Babe which won the Academy Award for Visual Effects and for which he co-created the first CG talking animal. Mr. Tigar is a member of the Visual Effects Society and the winner of three CLIO Awards and an Emmy. He is currently consulting with the production of the first feature film in the Land of Elyon series.
Gabe Hordos – Head of Story / Script Outline & Treatment Development
Gabe was supervising animator at DreamWorks Animation and the head of character animation for the Rise of the Guardians. Gabe was also supervising animator for Toothless in How to Train Your Dragon and an animator on Kung-Fu Panda.
Peter Bergmann – Global Administration & Distribution
A seasoned executive in television and film, Mr. Bergmann started his career as a producer at abc Broadcasting and rose to become executive VP of the company. He went on to create his own production company, Over the Hill Gang, providing Movie of The Week programs (MOW’s) and miniseries such as David, Victory At Entebbe and Dangerous Curves to the four major American networks as well as cable. While at the Film Company, he became involved in program development for the theatrical release, which yielded The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia and Rocky III. In 2011, he implemented his ideas on the global digital domain for “family value entertainment” (animation and live action) through Porchlight Entertainment Worldwide where he is currently CEO and Executive Producer. He will be involved in overseeing production and global distribution needs for the Land of Elyon LLC. He is also a member of the management committee.
Brian J. Thomas, ESQ. – Legal Counsel
Over the past 20 years, Bryan J. Thomas, Esq. has represented numerous clients in the entertainment Industry, including: Sony, Universal, Virgin and multiple recording artists, independent record labels and film production companies. He has represented Tri Star, Sony Pictures, New Line, III Dimensional Films and motion picture producer Jackie George for film credits on Batman, Richie Rich, Demolition Man, Die Hard and Cheetah Girls. He has also represented Visart Corp (a division of China World Best Group) regarding their distribution of its flat screen television monitors and ancillary entertainment products in the U.S.
John Schulman – Chief Legal Consultant
After graduating from UC Berkeley’s School of Law, Schulman started his legal career in private practice at the law firm of Kaplan, Livingston, Goodwin, Berkowitz and Selvin. During his tenure there he worked on a variety of Warner Bros. assignments, including litigation and negotiations regarding the “Superman” franchise. In 1981, he became a founding partner of the law firm then known as Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman & Schulman, where he continued to serve as a primary outside litigation counsel for Warner Bros. In 1984, he joined Warner Bros. as vice president and general counsel, charged with building the studio’s in-house legal department. In 1989, he was promoted to senior vice president and general counsel and from 1991 to 2008 he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. In 2010, after a 25-year career at Warner Bros. he joined Mitchell Silverberg & Krupp in Los Angeles as Partner and Chair of Entertainment Department. Schulman currently serves on the board of directors for Bet Tzedek Legal Services and the Wilshire Boulevard Temple and is a trustee of the Southwestern School of Law. Mr. Schulman is Chief Legal Consultant for the Land of Elyon Holdings LLC.
Alvin Durant Mount – Production Manager
Alvin is a 27-year veteran of the film and television industry. Many of his professional accomplishments are in the world of independent film and television where he has compiled an impressive list of credits in feature films as a producer, line producer, production manager, and assistant director. As facility manager for Santa Fe Communications from 1989-94 he was responsible for studio operations, production and post production assistance, for the TV shows – Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, MONTEL and the pilot for American Movie Classics and many other prominent titles. He has also produced independent pilots for television, television commercials, music videos, award-winning shorts and feature films.
Liza Wong – Chinese In-language, Story and Culture Consultant
An MFA graduate of California Institute of the Arts, Wong is a bi-lingual, writer/director whose short films have been featured at more than 20 international film festivals, including the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Cinequest Film Festival and the International Short Film Festival Berlin. In recent years, she has written Escape to Shanghai (tentative title), a feature film project for Fox Networks Group. Currently, Ms. Wong is commissioned by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service to produce a documentary on Youth Citizenship and Civic Engagement, scheduled to be completed in 2018.
